Welcome to my Web page. I am currently an Assistant Professor of English, with interests in early American literature, the American Renaissance, and comtemporary digital culture. By following the links above, you will find information about my courses, my research, and my contact information.

Under "Book Notes," I have also included brief comments about books I have recently read, especially those that do not appear on my course syllabi. I have also started a blog that expands upon some of these comments. I entered this profession because, to put it simply, I love to read, and these "Book Notes" are an attempt to give brief, informal responses to some of the better books I've been reading outside of class. These books range from the "literary fiction" that we professionals are supposed to love (but often don't) to more "popular" books that we are supposed to despise (but often don't). Hopefully, you can find a book that might interest you. Finally, on the right, I have also added a few non-academic Web links that I frequent, especially dealing with music--including Pandora and Slacker, the best music sites on the Web--and sports. Browse around and enjoy.
