Presentation Resources of interest to Faculty:
Blogs and RSS: Teaching and Collaboration in Academia (website / handout): Blogs (weblogs) and RSS (Really Simple Syndication) are not new, but the implications for higher education are just beginning to be explored. Current awareness, research collaboration, reflection as an educational and professional development tool, automatic website updating, and a tour of academic blogs will be covered.
An Online Research Toolkit: Exploring Web 2.0 for Library Research (HigherEdBlogCon presentation): A tour of some of Web 2.0 tools that make doing research, online and mobile, a little easier. The presentation is created using these tools, too. This presentation is also the introduction to the Online Research Toolkit site, a collection of reviews of Web 2.0 tools for academic research, loosely clustered into 5 categories: Searching, Note Taking, Citation, Collaboration, and Presentation.
