The Research Areas category includes a vast range of material geared to both graduate and undergraduate students. The reading lists under each subcategory are selective: older standard texts are mixed in with newer work to give an overview of scholarship in each area. Since our courses include a strong contextual or historical component, students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with one or more areas of research: see the brief introductions to each of the areas.
