Office Hours: M-W-F in JE130 0745 to 0900 Plus help during class.

Welcome to VISUAL BASIC.NET, computer programming for the 21st century. Visual basic.net has what we call a graphical user interface and uses object-oriented programming. The core of VB.NET is a set of independent groups of instructions that are activated by the events they have been told to recognize. Two types of objects will be of concern to us, control objects and code objects( text boxes, picture boxes and command buttons and all of the other controls that can be created from the VB.NET tool box. Code objects are specific instances of user-defined types that are defined in a seperate module. VB.NET has become the tool of choice for developing user friendly applications in the business world. This course will be taught in a computer atmosphere. Part of the class hour will be devoted to lecture and the remaining time devoted to work on projects or study for a quiz. I have included a calendar to keep you aware of up-coming events in class. I will be in contact with you here and on Pipe-line. The grades will be F to A in accordance with the university standards.

The sections covered in this course will be 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4 ,7.5 , 8.1, 8.2
