Library Liaison June Cheng
Curriculum Lab
Due to the retirement of the Curriculum Lab faculty members, we are making the following changes to the "collection":
All the media materials (VHS, DVD) have been moved to the first floor in front of the circulation desk.
The reserve materials at the curriculum lab will be combined with the regular reserve collection at the circulation desk.
I will take over the library sessions for curriculum. (I anticipate that my BI requests will double, so please send in your requests early online.)
Library Research
Please recommend to your students this article if you intend for them to take advantages of our library online resources: http://chronicle.com/jobs/news/2009/05/2009051401c.htm Despite the fact that Connecticut Digital library may go, taking all the resources from Iconn., we still have a large number of valuable databases.
Please spread the word that there is an Education Librarian they can feel free to contact in regard to their research resources. There is an online request for this purpose at http://library.southernct.edu/bitrainingformlines.html
Bibliographic Management Softwares
Refworks (the bibliographic management softeware we have subscribed to for the passed 3 years) will be gone by the end of Fall. Instead, we will use Endnote and what you have in your Refworks account can be transferred into Endnote. Some of the databases (e.g. Ebscohost) have the feature of showing your rearch results in several major bibliographic styles of your choice and allow you to print, download or email.
Book Budget
Our book/media budget has shrunk about 40 - 50%. Please send in your orders through your library liaisons before the end of the year (by December).
