DEVELOPMENTAL
MATHEMATICS INFORMATION
The Mathematics Department has changed the prerequisites for
certain lower-level mathematics courses. These changes will
affect students who have not finished their University Requirements
in Mathematics by the end of the Fall 2004 semester.
The
Fall 2004 semester was the last registration period in which Math 101
would serve as the prerequisite for Math 103, 105, 107, and 108.
Effective with the Wintersession of 2005 and Spring semester 2005, Math
101 will only serve as a prerequisite for Math 102 (the previous Math
119 class). Also, effective with the Wintersession of 2005 and Spring
semester 2005, the prerequisite for Math 100 will be completion of Math
095 with a C- or better. Summer 2004 and Fall 2004 were the last
registration periods in which a D in Math 095 directly qualified
students for Math 100.
Beginning with WinterSession of 2006, a grade (A, B, C, D, F)
obtained in MAT 095 will contribute 3 credits toward the calculations of
a student's GPA. Therefore MAT 095 will now have an effect on a
student's GPA, but as in the past, will not count toward graduation
credits.
