My general area of interest is condensed matter physics of correlated many-body systems, with a focus on magnetism.
My work is theoretical but much of it is motivated by phenomena observed material systems. Recent efforts have
focused on the physics of highly frustrated magnets like the large moment, rare-earth materials:
I am also working on quantum fermion systems in lower dimensions, where the model of choice upto now has been
the Hubbard model. Particular material systems of interest are the charge transfer salts - half filled triangular
lattice materials. There is also a specific numerical bent to study this study, to test the constrained path/phase
quantum Monte Carlo (CPQMC) method on a frustrated lattice geometry.
