Logic Writing Assignment #11

In various print media (e.g., newspapers, magazines, books – not off the internet), find examples of 3 Inductive Generalization arguments (i.e. Enumerative Inducations). (This may require a trip to the library.) Surveys are good illustrations of these types of arguments. Don’t share your examples with other students in the class. Photocopy each of the ads, articles, etc., and circle or highlight the relevant portion of the text. On a separate paper, restate each argument in numbered premises and conclusion; identify the sample and target population; and evaluate the strength of the argument using the criteria found in ch. 8. Email me the paper by Sunday at 5 pm, and bring the entire packet to class on Monday.
