Logic Writing Assignment #12

In various print media (e.g., newspapers, magazines, books – not off the internet), find examples of 2 Arguments from Analogy (Analogical Inductions) and 2 Causal Arguments. (This may require a trip to the library.) Don’t share your examples with other students in the class. Photocopy each of the ads, articles, etc., and circle or highlight the relevant portion of the text. On a separate paper, restate each argument in numbered premises and conclusion; then evaluate the strength of the argument using the criteria found in ch. 8 for each type of argument. Email me the paper by Sunday at 5 pm, and bring the entire packet to class on Monday.
