1. What does Foucault mean when he states that “We must construct an analytics of power that no longer takes law as a model and a code” (90)? How does normalization operate differently than the law?
2. Foucault is critical of the notion of a monolithic, unified, static power, and argues that power consists of a multiplicity of force relations that are continually transforming. Considering his comments about resistance (esp. 95), does this mean that he resuscitates the notion of individual freedom?
3. What is bio-power and how is it a power over life?
