Paper #2 Topic

In this paper, I want you to discuss our experience of third world cultures. When we constitute our cultural identity by comparing the United States to third world countries, in what ways (both positive and negative) do we represent these countries. What sorts of norms do we posit in the process of doing this? Use concrete examples, discussing at least one from Kipling or Conrad, and at least one other from a different source.
