Paul Holmer is interested in all aspects of U.S. popular culture, but especially with the ways in which classical and medieval paradigms have informed the lives of ordinary Americans since the Revolution. He has particular concern with the role of commerial publishing and other media in this process. Additionally, he has maintained an interest in the material culture of frontier lands in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
